Trip to the farm

Picnic time!

Meeting new friends was lovely!

Ready to look around the farm?

First, we visited the small animals.

We were able to handle and stroke animals, such as: rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks and ducklings.

Very gentle!

Taking turns

How does it feel?

What sound does it make?

What is it called?

Who is next?

Some of us held the baby chick on our arm. It tickled a bit!

The feathers were so soft.

We saw such a huge rabbit. His name was Kyle.

Here are some of the baby rabbits. They were only four weeks old.

We saw two cows and a baby cow. One of the cows is going to have a baby very soon. It will be called a calf.

Here is the cheeky little goat. He ran around the farm.

We were told all about the animals and were excited to feed them.

Chickens, hens and cockerels

We got on our train to move around the farm safely.

Grown ups were proud of how we stayed together, walked and listened so well.

There were lots of ducks in here of all different sizes.

Here we go again!

What's next?

He was very tired today. Jess said that he wouldn't come in from the field earlier on.

Feeding time...

Another sleepyhead

How many piglets can you see?

We became really confident when feeding the animals by ourselves. We had to use flat hands to feed them or place the carrot chunks in the pen. We weren't allowed to throw the food, only over the walls to the pigs.

Well done!

Getting more confident by the minute!

All gone? They must have been hungry!

Well done, everyone!

Kylie was waiting for us too. A magnificent horse!

Wow!

Hand washing time

Time for a rest, drink and snack in the sunshine.

Then off to play on the tractors and in the adventure playground.

And time to come back to school. What a fun time at the farm!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Thank you to the grown ups who came and helped to look after us all. You made it such a fantastic day! Thanks to the farm too! It was great!

  1. Hi Nursery

What a fantastic trip you had at the farm and all the lovely animals you got to hold and feed.
How funny it is to see some of the animals were so tired that they had to have a nap.
Which animal did you like and why?
