Letters and Sounds

Spotting pictures and words and clapping rhythms, e.g. El-e-phant, foot-ball...

Listening to various environmental sounds. Working with a partner to record which sounds we could hear! Well done everyone!

Settling in and exploring the sounds using our voices and actions.

Working together and using objects and props to perform!

Developing self confidence and self esteem.

This is our Letters and Sounds area. Please come and take a look. The children really like this area and we are adding new things to it. It us helping to develop our skills in Phases 1 and 2. We are using visuals and props to support our listening skills and our ability to talk about, describe and create different sounds as well as identify letter sounds and develop awareness of rhyme and alliteration. We spend time going on listening walks, making music outdoors, singing songs and learning new rhymes. We are looking forward to World Nursery Rhyme week too and especially when we can dress up as a favourite character on Thursday!
